A Practical Guide to Meeting Points for Day Trips From Paris
Missing the coach is the one mistake you cannot fix on a day trip. Most day trips from Paris leave early and on time, and the departure point is not always where people assume. This page is a working reference: where each trip starts, how to prepare, and a checklist for the morning itself.
All details below come from the listings for some of the best day trips from Paris, run by Paris City Vision, official Paris licensee of Gray Line. Always confirm the meeting point on your own booking, as details can change. Prices are "from" prices at the time of writing (October 2026).

For the longer trips, there are two places to know.
Avenue de Suffren (west, 15th arrondissement)
- [ ] Used by Normandy and Mont-Saint-Michel.
- [ ] Close to the Eiffel Tower, so easy to find.
- [ ] Normandy leaves at 7:00 a.m. Leave your hotel with margin.
Pullman Bercy (east, 12th arrondissement)
- [ ] Used by the Loire Valley, Bruges and Disneyland trips.
- [ ] Across the city from the Eiffel Tower area.
- [ ] Do not mix it up with the Avenue de Suffren hub.
Booking a hotel near one of these hubs can save time if you plan several trips.
The night before
- [ ] Find your meeting point on a map and save it offline.
- [ ] Check the metro route and the first train time.
- [ ] Have a taxi or ride-hail app ready as a backup.
- [ ] Save your booking confirmation offline.
- [ ] Pack your day bag: water, snack, layers, charger.
- [ ] For Bruges: put your passport in the bag.
- [ ] Set two alarms.
The morning itself
- [ ] Leave earlier than the map says you need to.
- [ ] Allow time to find the exact spot on the street.
- [ ] Keep your phone charged and your confirmation open.
- [ ] If running late, call +33 1 44 55 60 00 straight away. WhatsApp is +33 6 14 96 42 81.
When hotel pickup is worth it
Several trips offer a hotel pickup option. At the time of writing, examples include:
- Normandy with lunch and hotel pickup, from €189
- Loire Valley with hotel pickup, from €225
- Bruges with hotel pickup, from €210
Pickup removes the meeting-point problem entirely. It is worth it if your hotel is far from the hub, if you are travelling with children, or if you simply do not want to cross Paris before dawn.
Versailles: a different setup
Versailles has two ways to join. The coach option starts from €79. Without transport, from €55, you make your own way to the palace. Read your booking carefully, since the plan for the day changes https://www.tourism.paris/en/ depending on the option you picked.
Common mistakes
- [ ] Going to Avenue de Suffren for a Pullman Bercy departure, or the reverse.
- [ ] Trusting the metro too early in the morning without checking times.
- [ ] Forgetting a passport for Bruges.
- [ ] Arriving exactly on time instead of early.
